Amersham – Public Town Square

Remodelling of the existing square around St. Michaels Church

JDA were asked to reimaging a new public community square for Amersham-on-the-Hill as part of a wider restoration project to the local church. The briefs aim was to strengthen the relationship between the church and the wider community.

A carefully considered new front entrance establishes a welcoming and accessible connection between the building and the square, creating a more prominent civic presence. The proposals provide an improved setting for community activities and events, while sensitively enhancing the existing church and its relationship with the surrounding public space.
